Support & Security

Get useful help without exposing sensitive API data in public.

Get help

This public page provides the currently available support, privacy, troubleshooting, permission-removal, and data-deletion instructions for Joshu. A public contact channel is not currently listed.

Never include sensitive data in a support request. Do not include captures, tokens, cookies, credentials, private URLs, personal information, or proprietary data in a message, screenshot, recording, log, attachment, or reproduction.

What to include in a support request

If a public contact channel is added here, use synthetic or fully fictional data and include:

  • Joshu version and capture mode (Standard capture or Automatic API discovery).
  • Browser name and version.
  • Operating system and version.
  • Clear reproduction steps using synthetic data.
  • Expected behavior and actual behavior.

Before sending anything, inspect screenshots and copied text for browser profile names, internal hostnames, query parameters, request headers, and values shown elsewhere in the browser.

Security reports

Do not disclose suspected vulnerabilities through a public channel. This page does not currently provide a verified private security-reporting method. Until one is published here, do not send vulnerability details or include real credentials, captures, personal information, customer data, or proprietary traffic in a support request.

Delete all captures

  1. Open Joshu from the browser toolbar or side panel.
  2. Open the extension's settings or capture-management view.
  3. Choose the option to delete or clear all captures.
  4. Confirm the deletion, then verify that the session list is empty.

You can also delete individual sessions. Deletion from Joshu cannot remove copies previously exported, copied, synchronized, backed up, or shared.

Remove optional site permissions

  1. Open your browser's extension-management page and select Joshu.
  2. Open site access or permissions.
  3. Remove or disable access for optional HTTP/HTTPS origins you no longer want Joshu to include.
  4. Restart an active capture session so the updated access takes effect.

Browser labels and menu locations vary by Chromium-based browser and version. Removing optional origin access can prevent Joshu from observing API activity for that origin.

Uninstall Joshu

  1. Delete any captures you no longer need and separately remove exported files or clipboard history where applicable.
  2. Open your browser's extension-management page.
  3. Find Joshu — API Assistant and choose Remove or Uninstall.
  4. Confirm removal.

Your browser normally removes extension-local storage when the extension is uninstalled. Previously exported, copied, pasted, synchronized, backed-up, or shared data remains under your control and must be removed separately.
